There are eight palettes according to Elle Decor that will be the hot trend for this year. These palettes are made up of complementary blue and orange, vegetable colors like green, purple and eggshell blue, lime, Elderberry and Hawthorne rose, and earthy yellow, with pink tones, black and gold hues, bright turquoise with oink and purple and finally the new neutral colors, the metallics.

On the other hand, if you only have eyes for neutrals there is a new color people are raging about. It is Sage Green. This color is replacing the popular colors beige and white. If you are not familiar with this color, it is a greyish green color. This new color is becoming more and more popular because it is easy to match with furniture, its vibrant yet soft, and there are infinite ways to decorate with. This color is not only being used for walls, but also for cabinets and furniture as well.

I came across some interesting information that may be useful if you are trying to sell your home. Turns out that there is one color that believe it or not, adds value to your home, up to thousands of dollars at the time of purchase. That color is ivory. According to Victoria Gimson, design director and founder of Decorum Interior Design, she said “ivory is timeless, classic and versatile.” This color is perfect, because it gives new buyers a blank canvas to work with from scratch. Yet, it is still important to keep in mind that that adding accent furniture that give a pop of color that will contrast with the walls, and will catch the eye of potential buyers. Painting the interior of your home ivory will make it look like it is maintained and will make it easier for buyers to decorate as they will not have to worry about repainting the house after purchasing.
